Airborn Computers is unique for many reasons but my personal favourite is our Green Policy through offering the largest range of Green Products.
We have incorporated many Green incentives into our business already. To name just a few Airborn Computers will aim to become 100% paperless. Currently we are running at 96% so we are well on our way to achieving our first goal. Secondly the website design will reduce energy costs both for us as a company and you the customer. Traditional websites with their majority white background use more energy. White is a very powerful colour and will use up to 40% more power than a website with a black background. By making these small design changes we can reduce our impact on the environment.

Re-Use
I would like to draw your attention to a small organisation making a big impact for the environment. CLiCK.
CLiCK is an innovative organisation dedicated to protecting the environment and helping people in a vulnerable position by developing effective methods of redistributing pre loved computers. CLiCK works hard to provide computers to those who would otherwise be unable to afford or obtain a computer and with your kind donation they can continue to provide a valuable service to the community and the environment. Here is a breakdown of people and groups we have given Computers to: Students, Non-Profit Organisations, Families in remote areas, People living with disabilities and the Unemployed.

Recycle
Sadly Australia does not have a national scheme to manage the disposal of old computers. Most state and territory governments have an environmental department that’s responsible for recycling schemes in conjunction with local councils. There are also organisations that refurbish computers and provide them to not-for-profit groups, or accept computers for disposal.
Planet Ark and Sensis have recently created the www.recyclingnearyou.com.au website that lets you search by area or product to find a local recycling centre for computers and a range of other household items.
